Wailuku Heights is a community of fine homes nestled against the eastern foothills of the West Maui Mountains. Many offer sweeping views of the city, harbor, and ocean, some with bi-coastal views.  The higher elevation provides for cooler temperatures in addition to the sweeping views below.  It's 800 foot altitude comes with temperatures a few degrees cooler than at sea level.  Wailuku Heights consists of ~517 properties, mostly built out with custom homes but about 11% remaining as vacant land parcels as of 2017.  Access is via Kuikahi Drive from Honoapiilani Hwy or by South Alu Road from Main Street in Wailuku town.

Wailuku Heights is commonly grouped into 2 categories, Wailuku Heights itself and the Original Wailuku Heights (sometimes called Old Wailuku Heights).  Original Wailuku Heights has ~75 homes built between 1950 and 2010 with a median build year of 1966 making the typical home over 50 years old as of 2017.  Only 3 of the homes were built 2000 and later.  There are a handful of vacant land parcels here although they may not be buildable.  Current listings for this section only are available below via the "ONLY Original Wailuku Heights" link.

"Newer" Wailuku Heights consists of ~388 homes built from 1951 to date with a median build year of 1988 making the typical home about half the age of the original section.  There are still multiple vacant lots in this community providing the opportunity to build the home of your choice.  Current listings for this section only are available below via the "ONLY Newer Wailuku Heights" link.

Incomplete Listing Searches:  Whether you are using this site, Realtor.com, Zillow, Google, or some other search solution, you are sure to miss some of the current listings.  Why?  Unlike the other Hawaiian islands, Maui data is inconsistent making complete search results extremely difficult.  For example, the subdivision "Wailuku Heights" (the official name) has 10 different name variations as entered by listing agents.  A search for "Wailuku Heights" listings is only 1 of the 10 variations.  For a complete list of available properties, you will need the assistance of an agent who understands the issue and knows how to overcome it.
