Waikupu Gardens (Phases 1 & 2)

Waikupu Gardens Phase 1 and Phase 2 are adjacent affordable housing projects east of Maui's Honoapi'ilani Highway in Wailuku.  Both were developed by the late Jessie Spencer whose goal was to provide more affordable housing for the Maui people.  The number built in Phase 1 and Phase 2 was a sizeable number approaching 500 homes.  Phase 1 is located between Honoapi'ilani Highway and Waiale Road.  Phase 2 is located near the intersection of of Waiale Road and East Waiko Road. 

As part of making these homes affordable, homes and lot sizes are modest in size.  For Phase 1, the typical home size is around 1500 sq ft on a typical lot size of 4800 sq ft..  For Phase 2, the typical home size is a little larger, around 1650 sq ft on a larger lot size of around 5900 sq ft.  These numbers are near the middle of the range of sizes.  See listings below for current resale prices.

For reference, there is a new workforce housing project being developed in the 2019/2020 time frame located adjacent to Waikupu Gardens.  The name of that project is Waiale Elua.
