Pohailani condominiums are located on the mauka side of the highway in Kahana.  There are 2 sections, a phase II oceanfront section with 29 studios and a phase I section of eighty-five 2-bedroom/2-bath units across the highway.  The oceanfront buildings are protected by a seawall reported to have been in place for at least 20 years.  It's not perfect protection however with seep holes frequently appearing on the narrow land section between the buildings and the sea wall.  There are plans to pump sand from the ocean floor onto the base of the seawall to reestablish a beach but it had not been started as of late 2017.  The project includes 2 pools, BBQ, tennis courts, and clubhouse.  Individual properties are mostly fee-simple ownership.
