Ma'alaea Surf is an oceanfront condominium in North Kihei with nice sandy beach, 2 pools, and tennis courts.  Owners tend be be very loyal and one has to pay a premium to purchase one of these units.  Masonry buildings are only 2 stories in height on an expansive project with over 5 landscaped acres.  There are 22 1-bedroom/1-bath units and 37 2-bedroom/2-bath units.  Sale prices of 2 bedroom units typically exceed $1M with 1 bedroom units not that far behind.  Maintenance fees are relatively high because of the low-density of this project in the $800 to $1200 range as of 2017.  Those who are price-conscious may want to look elsewhere while those who insist on the best may want to consider buying here.  I'm told that the AOAO has first right of refusal to purchase units for sale (this should be verified if deemed important).
